Ascension Trust
Ascension Trust is a Christian inter-denominational organisation with a passion to empower individuals to work together within their local community and nation, to contribute positively to society and to improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged and vulnerable. Ascension Trust was started in 1993 by Reverend Les Isaac OBE and works together to develop and implement practical and effective strategies to transform lives, promote community cohesion and advance social justice. Ascension Trust operates as an umbrella to over 200 charities and a growing number of national and international initiatives and is the lead of the Bridge Watch initiative.
City Bridge Foundation
City Bridge Foundation’s primary purpose is to manage and maintain five of London’s key bridges, ensuring they not only serve the capital now, but will continue to do so, for as long as they are needed. They require sustained investment and expert care – and their upkeep and overhauls are managed by a specialist team within City Bridge Foundation, who work closely with other stakeholders to ensure the public’s safety and security. . The City Bridge Foundation has provided the funding for the Bridge Watch initiative that has enabled it to be set up and implemented in the city.

The City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile dedicated to a vibrant and thriving City, supporting a diverse and sustainable London within a globally successful UK. Public protection and the safety of people are some of our corporate plan’s priorities, we are honored and proud to support Bridge Watch.
Royal National Lifeboat Institute
The RNLI saves lives at sea. But beyond the work we do on our lifeboats and beaches, we’re an active part of the community too. . Powered primarily by kind donations, our search and rescue service has been saving lives for 200 years.
We are a charity founded upon and driven by our values of selflessness, courage, dependability and trustworthiness, with volunteers at our heart. Values shared by generations of supporters like you who have powered our lifesaving work through your kindness and generosity for 200 years. The vast majority of RNLI people are volunteers – ordinary people doing extraordinary things – supported by expert staff, all working together to help communities at home and abroad save lives.
HM Coastguard
HM Coastguard coordinates all maritime search and rescue (SAR) operations in the UK through a network of coastguard stations, operating 24 hours a day. Staff in operations rooms coordinate the response to a variety of incidents from lost or missing people to climbers stuck on cliffs or vessels missing at sea.
HM Coastguard receives requests for assistance in many forms including 999 calls, mayday and pan broadcast, calls on VHF DSC and Channel 16 and satellite distress calls.
In an emergency we may send:
- a coastguard rescue helicopter
- coastguard rescue teams
- lifeboats (RNLI or independent lifeboats)
City of London Police
Policing the Square Mile brings with it particular challenges, quite unlike any other policing area within the UK.

London’s fire and rescue service is one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city.

Thrive LDN
Thrive LDN is the regional lead for suicide prevention on behalf of NHS England. Part of this role includes facilitating a multi-agency Suicide Prevention Group (SPG) of London partners. The group is made up of 39 organisations (56 individual members) and has an ultimate aspiration of making London a zero-suicide city. The group oversees the development of regional strategy for suicide prevention, delivers citywide projects to prevent suicide and supports those affected by suicide.
Port of London Authority
Our operations cover 95 miles of the River Thames, from Teddington to the North Sea. We work to keep commercial and leisure users safe, protect and enhance the environment, and promote the use of the river for trade and travel.
Tidal Thames Water Safety Forum
The Tidal Thames Water Safety Forum (TTWSF) is committed to reducing the number of people who drown in the tidal Thames, either accidentally or deliberately.
Launched in May 2019 by HRH The Duke of Cambridge, our Drowning Prevention Strategy sets out our collective ambition to improve safety on the tidal Thames, in line with our commitment to make it as safe a river as possible.
Vintners’ Company
The Vintners’ Company, with its first Charter in 1363 is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London with its origins steeped in the history of the City of London and the import, regulation and sale of wine, the Company continues to maintain strong links with the UK wine trade with Vintners’ Hall known as the trades‘spiritual home. Through its trade, social, charitable and educational interests, the Company continues to play an important role in the 21st Century.
